Give a fresh start to your old blog |
There is no denying in the fact that in the running 2017 the craze of blogging and writing content for blogs have been decreased over the past few years.
In the race of earning money through blogging, the quality of
the content on blogs have decreased over the years, this is because most of the
creators have shifted to YouTube for earning money via video content.
Day by day the traffic is diverting from blogs towards
YouTube, this have created a panic for the new bloggers who have just steeped
into blogosphere and wanted to make some name for them. Not only the new
bloggers but also the old well-established bloggers have seen decreased traffic
over a period of time on their websites and blogs.
So, why don’t you give a fresh start to your old blog and for
those who are just stepping into blogging either personally or professionally
this will be a start booster for their blogs.
For this I have created a checklist that will be
a guide to what can be used to give a boost up start to the blogs.
Checkboard |
Let’s dig
deeper shall we,
Content
We have always read or heard from someone that “Content is king” and well that’s true, because out of
everything the readers will only be fascinated by the content on the blog.
However, the content on blogs have come to what you can say a
saturation point where everyone is writing in the same old way “like this blog post”.
One way to break this saturation is to think with a “Different Approach” for writing the blog post.
Few years back there was a saying that short blog post are
more preferred over the regular long blog posts that the old bloggers used to
write.
Well there is a difference between the two and on which
topics the blogger should write a short-limited post or a long-detailed post.
To get a clear sense a post on say fashion niche will be short with a minimum
of three to four images related to the post, moreover an education blog post
say that is teaching something will be long and detailed.
So, if you have your well-established blog with long posts
try to post few short post and with different approach in writing up the
article.
What do I mean by Different Approach?
By Different approach in writing I mean by Change of Language used in the blog post. I know few
will disagree by this method but the fact is the readers are just so bored to
read the same language use again and again in the blog post.
Other than this if you have just started out into blogging
it’s really important to convert any reader into potential loyal reader for the
blog. This can be done by writing with an easy to understand and common
language say English or your own local language if a blog is only limited to a
number of readers of a particular language.
Layout
One of the things that appeal to the readers is the user-friendly
nature of any blogs they come across, this includes the temporal of the blog as
well as the navigational aspects of it.
Temporal here means how quick does the blog loaded up for the
user, yes it depends on the network connection but it also depends on the
layout of the blog. The smother the layout the faster the blog will load up.
According to Google the home page of the blog should not
exceed or say should remain under an MB.
Now days, fully optimized and SEO ready templates are
available on internet that are well structured in every way in compliance with
the google norms and rules.
So, playing with the layout making it more user-friendly will
surly give a boot to the traffic on the blog.
Interaction
The last and most important aspect of any blog to be a successful
one is the interaction between the writer or blog owner with the audience of
it. Some bloggers miss out on the interaction part of the blogging. They simply
write up the blog article and does not respond or pay attention to the readers
who are commenting on it and do not reply back.
This is where they start to losing some potentially
loyal readers for their content. So be sure to interact with the people who
comment on your articles.
