The trending hobby of every youngster now a day is off-course
Photography. According to Google Trends 2017 report India ranks on 14th
no. in case of photography related search online. But in real, youngsters have
a full-on craze for photography in India.
This article is for all those youngsters who are stepping
into the world of photography. And like to make a successful career in photography.
Well Let me assure you that it’s not easy to make a Living out of photography
alone. There are lot of things that matters when it comes to photography, it’s
not simply that you purchase a camera and start photographing around.
Here I will discuss what are the things you should know
before getting into photography.

Types of Photography
Every picture that someone clicks have been categories into
different types which we call as type of photographs. There are many however we
are learning about few of them in this article.
Let’s Know about some of them below
- Portrait Photography
- Fashion Photography
- Product Photography

Portrait Photography
Being a photography requires some basic knowledge about
portrait photography, this is because you will start with this form of photography
in your initial stages, if you are willing to shoot people, animal pets etc.
So, what is Portrait photography? Well it’s an image that
captures the emotions and feelings of person. It can be a random click or a
staged one. Random clicks are sometime called as candid’s. Stage Portrait are
those where the person who is been photographed is aware of the camera person
taking their pictures.

Above is a Portrait Click By Neil Rudrajeet a Student who
have its interest in Portrait Photography. As you can see he captured the
emotions of the person and portray it in his picture.
Until now if you are randomly clicking someone or relative
pictures, now you know what are they called, they are called as candid photos.
Being a Portrait Photographer requires some basic qualities
they are Quick reflex, Alertness and most of all sense of
photography.
So, by now you understood about Portrait photography, let’s
move on to another form of photograph.
Fashion Photography
The most fascinating field in photography is the fashion one.
Fashion Photography is more inclined towards the looks, makeup, the clothing,
the overall appearance of the model in the picture.
Moreover, it takes years of experience to get amazing results
in context of fashion. However, starting early in field of fashion will give
you immense experience by working with different well-known fashion
photographers in the industry.

As seen in the above photograph by Benny Mathur (Fashion
Photographer) he clearly showed that everything from makeup to overall appearance
is important for a fashion based image.
As I told you earlier fashion photography mainly focuses on
makeup, dressing, and the overall looks this makes a photographer’s team a quite
big one, it includes Makeup Artist, Shoot Coordinators, Stylist,
Photographer off course, well this about it while starting new in the field
of fashion photography. However, more experienced fashion photographer tends to
keep backup photographers also in their team for more shoots or say as their
intern.
This sums up the fashion photography part let’s move on to
the next one.
Product Photography
Do you like the photos you see on Flipkart, Snapdeal or any
one E-commerce site? It’s all fall under Product Photography. The
Products are placed in a photographable environment and then a picture is
clicked post-processed and uploaded to the e-commerce website.
To Start off in Product Photography you must have a brief knowledge
of lighting & Placement in photography. That can be learnt by
experimenting on a product or by reading the next half of this article.

We all have been fascinated by different types of cameras
available in the market either from canon, Nikon, Pentax or any other company.
What we don’t realize is that we don’t need a heck lot of an equipment to start
off into photography.
Well I have to mention that different type of photography
requires different types of gears. This section is all about that and we are
going to discuss that What type of gears should a Beginner Have. I found
my next article title I see.
From an entry level prospective you as a photographer does
not have a whole lot of money to spend into photography just yet. And Knowing
which camera to invest in seems a lot harder than giving an exam.
Let’s solve your problems and learn about different gears for

Cameras
As an absolute beginner in photography you might be confused
which brand to go with which camera will perform well or does this camera work
for both photography and videography?
These are the initial questions you might have as a budding
photographer. And also, there is the issue of money, parents really don’t allow
a really expensive camera on the first go.
The Absolute Need To know thing is that “Camera
Body” is the whole deal while purchasing a new camera.
More over the camera is divided into two categories
New Users
Professionals
So what’s the difference? New Users are “you”
who are going to purchase their first ever camera, and Professionals are
those who are already been in photography industry for quite a long time.
So we are going to talk about Entry level Camera for
new users. Entry level cameras include Canon 77D, Canon 80D, Canon 760D which
you as a new user can consider into buying. My Personal Recommendation is Canon
80D it will help in both photography and videography. And this three
mentioned above are not way to expensive to buy.
Lenses
After the hard decision about which camera to buy in the
budget, it’s time to deal with Lenses. There are wide range of lenses available
in market but what you need to buy is this, you need to have a 18-55mm along
with 55-250mm lenses that’s the standard lens combo kit available with most
of the cameras you are going to purchase.
According to what type of photography you will be interested
in there are different type of lenses.
