How to Create Site Map for Blogger Website and Submit on Google Search Console

Sitemaps for the website is like an index page, where all the published blog article and published pages are linked. Sitemaps are used to submit webpages to search engines such as Google, Bing, Yahoo etc. 


It is very important to create a sitemap and keep it updated if you want to keep auto-indexing your newly published articles on search engines.  

How to Create Sitemap for Blogger.com


To Create a sitemap for the blogger you can follow these steps 

  1. Visit https://www.labnol.org/blogger/sitemap/ 
  2. Enter your blog/website URL 
  3. Click on generate XML Sitemap 



Once the sitemap is generated it will look like this

Copy this text and head over to your blogger account. In the settings, tag scroll down to Crawlers and Indexing and click on Enable Custom robots.txt 



Now Click on Custom robots.txt and paste the code you just copied and save.
Done. Now to Check your sitemap simply visit  [Yourwebsitename.blogspot.com]/sitemap.xml
Replace yourwebsitename.blogspot.com with your own website URL. 

How to Submit Blogger Sitemap to Google Search Console

Submitting a sitemap to the google search console is quite an easy task.

  1. Login into your google search console property 
  2. Under the Indexing section, select Sitemaps.
  3. Under Add, a new sitemap enters the URL you just created in the above section yourwebsitename.blogspot.com/sitemap.xml. 


Click on Submit. If you have followed all the steps correctly you will see the following

And you are done.
